DPS Group Appoints New Group Financial Controller

Michael Scott joins our team to head up our new-look finance function.

DPS Group is delighted to announce the appointment of highly-rated Michael Scott as the company’s new Financial Controller.

A qualified chartered accountant, Michael has valuable experience of working with our team, in his previous role working with our accountants.

It’s been an exciting 12 months for Michael who was named Newly Qualified Chartered Accountant of the Year 2018 by PQ Magazine back in February.

And in May, he was named within ICAS “Top 100 Young Chartered Accountants”.

In June 2018, Michael was named One Young CA 2018 by ICAS.

The One Young CA is a chartered accountant under the age of 35 who ICAS believes is the promising rising star of the profession; someone who is going the extra mile to pursue their passions and goals.

As part of this recognition, Michael was awarded a place at One Young World in The Hague.

Founded in 2009 by David Jones and Kate Robertson, One Young World is a UK-based charity that gathers together the brightest young leaders from around the world for an annual conference that provides the opportunity to make lasting connections and drive positive change.

Michael is also committed to supporting others. He is a volunteer with HCPT Group 77, a charity which organises and facilitates life changing holidays for local Fife children who have a range of additional support needs.

Additionally, Michael also serves as treasurer for Fife Gingerbread.  This is a local charity which supports lone parent, vulnerable and disadvantaged families from across Fife.  They support families through various initiatives, projects and workshops.

In his new role as Financial Controller, Michael will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, reports on key performance indicators, overseeing tax compliance and assisting with research and development reporting. He will manage and oversee DPS Group’s finances, financial control and process, and supporting the training and development of the finance team.

“The newly created role displays the internal investment DPS Group is making into their finance function,” Michael explains.

“As we continue to grow, DPS Group becomes involved in more and more complex projects, delivering integrated control solutions to world leading brands across a wide range of sectors.

“It is vital to both ourselves and our clients that these projects are delivered efficiently, resourcefully and within prescribed budgets.”

Michael also revealed that critical to his decision to join our team was DPS Groups values.

He continued: “For last ten years, I have been involved with local charities.  It was essential that I joined a company who embraced their social responsibility and adopted local issues.  DPS Group, through their initiative DPS Local Heroes, support local charities and community projects.”

Welcome to the team, Michael!
